- What is the difference between soffit and fascia?
- Fascia is the vertical board that runs along the roofline and supports the bottom row of roof tiles and the gutters. Soffit is the horizontal material that closes the gap between the fascia and the exterior wall — the underside of the roof overhang. Both are typically replaced together since they are adjacent and the work overlaps.
- What materials do you use for soffit and fascia?
- We install aluminum soffit and fascia on most residential projects. Aluminum is durable, low-maintenance, and holds paint well. It does not rot, warp, or attract insects the way wood does. We also fabricate custom profiles in-house for projects that require non-standard dimensions or detailing.
- How do I know if my soffit or fascia needs to be replaced?
- Common signs include visible rot or soft spots on wood fascia, paint peeling or bubbling, water stains on the soffit, pest entry points, or gutters that are pulling away from the fascia board.
